The University of Marburg will celebrate its 500th anniversary in 2027—a milestone that represents half a millennium of academic excellence, innovation, and social engagement in the heart of Hesse. For this special occasion, nussknagger conceived and designed a digital platform that brings both the university’s history and its future to life. At the heart of the site is an immersive timeline presented in a “scrollytelling” format: as they scroll, visitors are immersed, step by step, in five centuries of the university’s history. It is complemented by a custom-developed event platform that clearly organizes the hundreds of events taking place during the anniversary year and makes them easy to find.
